The Department of Chemistry and Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Stout seeks an energetic and enthusiastic colleague to fill a tenure-track faculty position in either inorganic chemistry or experimental physical chemistry at the rank of assistant professor. The successful candidate will teach courses in his or her area of expertise, general chemistry and other undergraduate courses as needed, assess student learning, establish a research program suitable for a primarily undergraduate institution, and participate in service activities.
Anticipated start date: August 21, 2017
- Ph. D. in Inorganic Chemistry or Ph.D. in Experimental Physical Chemistry by employment start date, August 21, 2017
- Teaching experience at the college level
- Demonstrated competencies in inorganic chemistry or physical chemistry
- Demonstrated competencies in instrumentation
- Demonstrated promise for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level
- Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate research
- Demonstrated ability to contribute through service to the department, college, university and community
The Department of Chemistry and Physics is an integral part of the highly interdisciplinary STEMM college. The physical science programs, which include applied biochemistry and molecular biology, materials and nanoscience, and industrial chemistry, are growing rapidly. The addition of other
concentrations such as applied physics is anticipated.
