This full-time, 12-month position is responsible for providing administrative support for the Department of Food & Nutrition. Support activities include: financial management and reconciliation of all accounts in the department; administrative assistance to the department chair; schedule and coordinate department curriculum each semester; prepare all hiring forms and coordinate recruitments for the department; recruit, hire and supervise student employees; maintain departmental files; attend and record department meeting minutes.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with financial records and accounting procedures
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of basic computer skills
- Attention to detail, proofreading, and editing skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment and on collaborative efforts
- Associate degree in a related field
- Experience in a higher education environment
- Experience with UW-Stout systems, such as Peoplesoft, WISDM, Hyperion, and Image Now
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Evidence of strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
The Department of Food and Nutrition serves the undergraduate ACEND accredited Dietetics and IFT accredited Food Science and Technology programs, the graduate program in Food and Nutritional Sciences, and the ACEND accredited Post-Master's Dietetic Internship program.

The normal work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The minimum starting salary is $15.42 per hour. The hourly rate for this position is negotiable based on experience and available budget. A six-month probation is required.
