JOB TITLE: Academic Department Associate
DEPARTMENT: Operations and Management
APPOINTMENT PERCENTAGE (FTE): 100% (1.0 FTE)
ANTICIPATED START DATE: December 3, 2018
SALARY: $16.00 per hour minimum salary, with salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
Provide administrative assistance to the department chair; serve as the department’s financial manager; act as office manager/lead worker; assist in curriculum management and entry; assist with recruitment and evaluations of instruction by students; and other related duties.

- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills in working with a diverse community.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware and standard business software programs (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database) and the Internet.

- Good work habits, such as attendance, punctuality, accountability, thoroughness and resourcefulness.
- Work independently and as part of a team environment and on collaborative efforts.
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Experience working with student database systems.
- Ability to lead, assist and direct others in and outside of the department.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
The Operations and Management Department is housed in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Management and has about 45 instructional faculty and staff members. The department serves graduate majors in Construction Management, Healthcare Administration, Operations and Supply Management, Risk Control, Sustainable Management, and Training and Human Resource Development, and undergraduate majors in Apparel Design and Development, Construction, Management, and Sustainable Management, as well as related majors.

The normal work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The minimum starting salary is $16.00 per hour. The hourly rate for this position is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. A six-month probation is required.
