JOB DETAILS:

UW-Stout is currently seeking applications to fill two (2) unique positions in the University Library by the end of August 2019. Both are annual positions reporting to the University Library Director.

1. Undergraduate experience and outreach librarian

40% undergraduate student support, 30% marketing, public relations, and outreach, 15% Reference/Research Help, 15% professional service and other.

This is an annual 100% position.

2. Distance education and graduate student support librarian

40% distance education student support, 30% graduate student support, 15% Reference/Research Help, 15% professional service and other.

This is an annual 75% position.

QUALIFICATIONS for Position #1: Undergraduate experience and outreach librarian

Minimum / Required

  • Master’s Degree in Library/Information Studies or related program from an ALA-accredited college/university by start date.
  • Training and/or experience in providing instruction/training
  • Training and/or experience providing reference/research services
  • Experience and/or training in marketing and/or outreach
  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills

Highly Desired

  • Experience providing reference services in an academic setting
  • Knowledge of best practices for instruction and information literacy services
  • Experience or knowledge of social media content strategies for marketing or engagement purposes
  • Experience and/or training in assessment methods/techniques
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience using learning management systems, databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to problem solve in evolving team environments
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, students, faculty, and staff
  • Desire to work with diverse populations

QUALIFICATIONS for Position #2: Distance Education and Graduate Student Support Librarian

Minimum / Required

  • Master’s Degree in Library/Information Studies or related program from an ALA-accredited college/university by start date
  • Training and/or experience in providing instruction/training
  • Training and/or experience providing reference/research services
  • Experience and/or training in graduate level research methods
  • Experience creating online tutorials/learning objects
  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills

Highly Desired

  • Experience providing library instruction and research services in an online environment
  • Experience providing reference services in an academic setting
  • Knowledge of best practices for instruction and information literacy services
  • Experience and/or training in assessment methods/techniques
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience using learning management systems, databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to problem solve in evolving team environments

Menomonie, Wisconsin, is a town of 16,000 located in the beautiful Chippewa River Valley, 25 miles west of Eau Claire and 60 miles east of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
