INTRODUCTION:

International Application Specialist

The University of Wisconsin-Stout is seeking an Application Review Specialist to serve as a key member of the Admissions team, within the Enrollment and Strategic Initiatives division. This position is responsible for managing the process of importing all electronic applications, and reviewing, examining, and evaluating international and re-entry student applications. They will work collaboratively with Admissions team members and campus partners to provide exemplary customer service to students during the application process. This position exercises independent judgment, manages multiple priorities, and has strong attention to detail. UW-Stout is seeking a team member who is committed to promoting the development of an equitable and inclusive environment. The anticipated start date is September 18, 2023.

Application Review Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum / Required

Working knowledge of desktop hardware and standard business software programs (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email) in a windows environment.

Minimum of a high school diploma and 3 years of administrative office work.

Ability to make independent decisions and have excellent judgement including sensitivity to personal and confidential information.

Highly Desired

Have an Associate degree.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent attention to detail.

Evidence of effective customer service skills and ability to provide accurate service to diverse populations.

Ability to prioritize and organize a variety of activities and projects simultaneously.

Previous experience in higher education.

Knowledge of student information systems (preferably PeopleSoft or Salesforce) and Imaging Systems (preferably Perceptive Software) and/or a willingness to learn new technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Processing incoming international student applications (regular and ESL).

Download and import electronic applications into student information system.

Process incoming applications.

Process incoming Re-Entry student applications.

Process special applications.

Advise students, parents, and university personnel regarding residency statutes.

Process major changes.

Process transcripts as needed.
