ATTENTION:


The Operations and Management Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University invites applications for a faculty, tenure-track, Assistant Professor in Project Management position. The anticipated start date is August 22, 2022.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree and at least (3) years of industry work experience in Project Management, Business, Engineering, Technology, Construction Management, or other related fields
  • Demonstrated enrollment in a Ph.D. or similar terminal degree program which when completed, will lead to the qualifications necessary for tenure and promotion
  • Interest in advancing student learning and research in operations management and project management
  • Demonstrated success working with diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledge of and experience using MS Project

Preferred.

  • Post-secondary teaching experience
  • Earned Doctoral degree or ABD (All But Dissertation)
  • 3 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Related professional certifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online, undergraduate, and graduate courses according to departmental instructional plans. The primary instructional needs for the Operations and Management position call for teaching coursework in Project/Program Management related to operations, quality improvement, construction management, and project management activities for college programs as well as helping with program accreditation. In addition to teaching, all UW-Stout faculty are expected to engage in student academic advisement and conduct assessment of student learning; research; service, and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment dedicated to inclusive excellence. This includes contributing to academic program assessment and continuous improvement processes, in collaboration with faculty and staff.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

The Operations and Management (O&M) Department is housed in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Management (CSTEMM). O&M primarily serves undergraduate majors in Management, Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Technology, Construction, and Packaging, as well as graduate majors in Training and Human Resources Development, Engineering, Risk Control, and Operations and Supply Management. The department currently has 40 faculty/staff and offers more than 50 courses and 100 different sections each semester.
