The Operations and Management Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie, Wisconsin, USA, has an exciting opportunity for a faculty, tenure-track, nine-month academic year appointment beginning in August of 2023. Qualified candidates must be passionate about talent development and committed to ensuring an equitable and inclusive learning environment, as the online Master of Science in Training and Human Resource Development degree prepares professionals to successfully lead workplace learning, performance, and change at the individual, group, and organizational levels regardless of sector or industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements

  • Interest in advancing student learning in the area of training and human resource development and a people-first culture
  • Doctoral degree in an area of talent development, organizational leadership, business, and/or a closely related field. Candidates who are ABD will be considered; however, all requirements for a doctoral degree must be completed by the employment start date
  • Proven success working with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and/or sustaining a culture that is dedicated to contributing to the satisfaction and growth of all individuals to continuously improve the overall performance and success of the organization
  • Two years of professional work experience in the talent development field
  • Excellence in oral and written communication in English

Highly Desired

  • Ability to establish a climate and culture (work environment) that embraces equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Interested in post-secondary online teaching
  • Significant professional work experience and deep expertise with talent development efforts that foster learning, employee engagement, talent management, and employee development to drive organizational performance, productivity, and results

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this Operations and Management position will be to provide quality graduate and undergraduate instruction while maintaining a positive learning environment, with major emphasis placed on teaching, supporting, and evaluating students in talent and organization development courses delivered online and on the UW-Stout campus. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in service, research, and collaborate with faculty and staff to provide student academic advisement and assess student learning, which will include contributing to academic program assessment and continuous improvement processes. This faculty position also supports the People Process Culture vision by developing leaders who understand the importance of building a culture that contributes to the satisfaction of growth of all individuals to continuously improve performance and organizational success.

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

UW-Stout’s Operations and Management Department is committed to creating an inclusive campus community. The Operations and Management Department is housed in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Management. O&M primarily serves undergraduate majors in Management, Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Technology, Construction, and Packaging, as well as graduate majors in Training and Human Resources Development, Engineering, Risk Control, and Operations and Supply Management. The department currently has approximately 40 faculty/staff and offers in excess of 50 courses and 100 different sections each semester.
