INTRODUCTION:

JOB TITLE: Custodian

DEPARTMENT: Student Centers

APPOINTMENT PERCENTAGE (FTE): 100%

ANTICIPATED START DATE: 10/28/19

JOB DUTIES

This position consists of routine work to maintain the cleanliness of Student Centers facilities which include the Memorial Student Center and Merle Price Commons and is under the leadership of the Custodial Supervisor.This position requires cleaning functions primarily in Merle Price Commons on 1st shift Mondays through Fridays, but may be assigned to different shifts, days and to the Memorial Student Center depending on need.First shift starts at 6:00 am and ends at 2:30 pm.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Some knowledge of standard procedures, chemicals, tools, products, and equipment used in providing custodial services.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals consistent with the duties of this position.

Preferred

  • 1 year or more of demonstrated custodial experience.
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Experience performing event setups (i.e. experience setting up tables, chairs, equipment, etc.)
  • Valid Driver’s License

SPECIAL NOTES

The minimum starting salary is $13.00 per hour. The hourly rate for this position is negotiable based on experience and available budget. A six-month probation is required.
