ATTENTION:


The Enrollment and Retention Data Analyst supports the Enrollment and Strategic Initiatives (ESI) Division through research, management of data-related projects, and assists in strategic enrollment management and research related data requests. The ESI division includes Admissions, Advisement, Continuing and Professional Education, Financial Aid, Stout Online, and Registration and Records. The individual in this position will have advanced understanding of areas within the purview of the ESI division including data related to the enrollment funnel, retention, persistence, degree completion, customized instruction, and non-credit programming. In addition, understanding how student-related policies, procedures, and business practices inform ESI data is key.

This position will extract and compile data from various student information and CRM tools for the purpose of analysis and reporting to senior leadership at the direction of the Vice Chancellor of ESI. The Enrollment and Retention Data Analyst will serve in a critical role to support the development and monitoring of the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan.

The individual in this role will collaborate with the Planning, Assessment, Research, and Quality (PARQ) office on enrollment projects to be used internally at the university. The individual will work closely with Learning and Information Technology (LIT) to articulate the business needs to technical staff for projects that will integrate with Peoplesoft. This team member will have a commitment to promoting the development of an equitable and inclusive environment.

This full-time position reports to the Vice Chancellor of Enrollment and Strategic Initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum / Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and related work experience.
  • Experience with applying basic statistical concepts.
  • Progressive experience with strategic enrollment management intelligence functions, analytics, industry standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrated skills with student information systems or similar systems and the ability to develop professional and accurate reports based on data downloaded and analysis with appropriate executive summaries.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate complex data.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software, platforms, and hardware.
  • Detail oriented and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with project management.

Highly Desired

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Higher Education Administration, Educational Policy, or related area.
  • Knowledge and experience using Statistical Analysis tools, report writing platforms, such as PeopleSoft.
  • Experience in creating and visualizing reports using Tableau or similar data visualization tool.
  • Experience with extracting CRM data from tools like Salesforce and EAB Navigate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with demonstrated skill in identifying what is to be communicated, the appropriate audience, the method of communication, and the timing of the communication as well as the ability to always maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience with process mapping or similar approaches (LEAN process, etc.) to identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement within the division.
  • Ability to work effectively and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction.
  • Ability to maintain a working knowledge of academic and student services policies and procedures as they apply to enrollment management.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing a work environment that embraces equity, diversity, and inclusion.
