FINANCIAL SPECIALIST II (2 Positions)
JOB TITLE: Financial Specialist II

This position is responsible for all the Student Life & Services (SL&S) areas for the collection of financial data using UW-Stout software, maintenance, and development of financial reports, and perform accounting and auditing duties that are moderate in complexity but do not require knowledge of professional accounting or auditing theory. This position will work with many internal SL&S departments directly to offer training, guidance, and solutions to their financial needs using both UW-Stout and UW System policies and guidelines.
This position will prepare a variety of financial reports, audit/reconcile transactions, and prepare/process journal entries, deposits, invoices, and/or refunds.
Two positions are available. One in SL&S Admin office, and a second one in the Campus Card office.
- Minimum of 2 years of equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions.
- Knowledge of PC-based word processing, spreadsheets.
- Associate degree.
- Five (5) years or more of financial work experience.
- Professional work experience with Microsoft Excel and use of macros, pivot tables, and other tools.
- Knowledge of payroll practices and database software applications.
- Knowledge of state and university purchasing rules, policy, and applications including travel policies and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.

The normal work schedule for each position is Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The minimum starting salary is $18.76 per hour. The hourly rate for this position is based on experience and available budget. A six-month probation is required.
