This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position that reports to the Supervisor of Materials Management. This position is responsible for the management of the Surplus Property Store to include advertising surplus items for sale, managing online sales, arranging customer order pick-ups, running sales reports. Additional responsibilities include the day-to-day coordination and administration of the Surplus Property Program which includes property assessment, determining best method resale, developing marketing strategies and researching potential resale market sources, creating a resale price structure, inspection and testing of property for functionality, identification of fixed asset property for inventory disposal, securing property specification, overseeing computer resale preparation processes, Maintain monthly Surplus key performance metrics, management of in-house store and on-line auction sales – accepting payments, cash/receipt balancing, preparation of deposits. This position works independently with limited supervision.

Minimum / Required

  1. High School diploma and 2 or more years of inventory management experience or an Associate or Bachelor’s degree.

  1. Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills in working with a diverse community.

  1. Working knowledge of desktop hardware and standard business programs (e.g. Word, Excel).

  1. Ability to independently lift & move items with a weight lifting requirement of 58 lbs.

  1. Good work habits, such as attendance punctuality, accountability, thoroughness and resourcefulness.

  1. Have a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate campus vehicles.

Highly Desired

  1. Working knowledge of internet advertising, product information research and values.

  1. Experience using online auction sites.

  1. Forklift certification.

  1. Have the ability to prioritize a heavy workload and maintain attention to detail.
