Lecturer / Dietetic Internship Coordinator (Job ID 18999)
The Department of Kinesiology, Health, Food and Nutritional Sciences (KHFNS) at the University of Wisconsin-Stout invites applications for the Lecturer / Dietetic Internship Coordinator commencing in August 2023. This job announcement is being announced simultaneously with the Assistant Professor/Dietetic Internship Coordinator (Job ID 19000). Vacancy will be filled with either one (1) Assistant Professor or one (1) Lecturer. More information below in the Application Instructions section.
Minimum / Required
- An earned master's degree in human nutrition or related field from an accredited degree-granting institution and registered dietitian status
- Demonstrated intercultural competence and the impact on the student experience
- Interest in advancing student learning in area of Dietetics
- Demonstrated success working with diverse stakeholders
- Professional experience in clinical/medical nutrition therapy practice post credentialing
- Teaching experience, program development/coordination/evaluation, supervision of dietetic interns, and participation in scholarly activities
- Commitment to establishing a collaborative environment that embraces equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Active membership in the Academy of Nutrition of Dietetics and service to the profession
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Courses may include, but are not limited to: general nutrition, food service management, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition counseling and education, and supervised practicum in medical nutrition management.
- Coordinate the Post-Master's Dietetic Internship program, both the local and distance tracks.
- Maintain internship program accreditation and student records; communicate and coordinate with program faculty, preceptors and others involved with the program.
- Provide student academic advisement and conduct assessment of student learning. This includes contributing to academic program assessment and continuous improvement processes, in collaboration with faculty and staff.
- Additional responsibilities may include curriculum development, scholarly activities, and professional service.
UW-Stout’s KHFNS Department is responsible for administering the Dietetics; Health, Wellness, and Fitness; and Food Science and Technology programs. Dietetics-related programs include the M.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics program as well as two programs, the undergraduate Dietetics program and the Post-Master's Dietetic Internship program, which are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). The KHFNS department offers an ACEND-accredited Dietetic Internship program that has both local and distance tracks.
