Lecturers in Animation, 3D Modeling, and Digital Sculpting
The University of Wisconsin-Stout School of Art & Design seeks to hire multiple full or part time educators for semester or one-year appointments teaching various courses in animation, as well as other design foundations classes. Animation courses serve all levels of students majoring in both Animation + Digital Media and Game Design. Courses taught include introductory courses in the principles of animation as well as 3D modeling, 3D animation, and 3D digital sculpting.

These classes are fully enrolled and scheduled for this fall semester. Courses can be in-person, hybrid or online. Syllabus, typical projects, office space, a laptop computer, class resources and mentorship from area faculty will be provided to support the instructor. Contracts may be able to continue into spring semester.
The BFA in Animation + Digital Media and the BFA in Game Design & Development regularly have a high national profile, with recent rankings in The Princeton Review and Animation Career Review, and student awards at the E3 College Game Design Competition, Entertainment Software Association, and Intel University Games Showcase. Collectively, the programs house more than 300 students within the 1,000-student School of Art & Design, the largest public art and design program in the upper Midwest.
APPOINTMENT DATES: 8/22/2022 through 1/4/2023 or 5/21/2023
- Proficiency in ZBrush, Substance Painter and Maya.
- Experience in high- to low-poly workflow.
- Previous experience in teaching, coaching or mentoring, ideally of junior artists.
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years work experience in related industry.
- Proficiency in Substance Designer, Unity, Unreal or other game engine.
- Experience with lighting and rendering techniques.
- Additional skills in rigging and animation pipeline.
- Previous experience in university-level teaching; experience with learning management tools.
- Advanced degree and/or 5+ years of work experience in related industry.
