This office manager position provides comprehensive leadership (office management, administrative assistance, budget, purchasing and data management) for the Multicultural Student Services team and reports to the director. Essential qualities include advanced interpersonal communication and intercultural skills, computer literacy, budgetary skills and ability to independently manage and organize numerous responsibilities. MSS embraces an intercultural development model with a commitment to enhance diversity, campus climate and equity.
One-year experience as an administrative assistant in an office setting.
Demonstrated experience and evidence of excellent:
- budget management and accounting knowledge and skill,
- intercultural experiences with African American, American Indian, Asian and/or Latino (underrepresented minority) students and staff,
- organizational skills to manage numerous tasks with little supervision,
- verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills,
- computer skills and knowledge (Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, WISDM, UWBI),
- ability to work independently and as part of a team environment,
- ability to supervise student workers,
- work habits, such as attendance, punctuality, accountability, thoroughness and resourcefulness,
- judgement including sensitivity to personal and confidential information.
- More than one-year experience as an administrative assistant in higher education.
- More than one-year budget management experience in higher education.

The normal work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The minimum starting salary is $17.00 per hour. The hourly rate for this position is negotiable based on experience and available budget. A six-month probation is required.
