WORKING TITLE: Outreach Specialist




REPORTS TO: Emerging Center for Career and Technical Education Excellence Director


The Emerging Center for Career and Technical Education (CTE) Excellence is housed at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. The mission of the Emerging Center is to provide professional development to enhance career and technical educators’ effectiveness, engage in and disseminate research related to career and technical education policy and practice, and support quality CTE programs at the secondary and postsecondary levels through communication and outreach.

The Outreach Specialist will assist the Emerging Center Director in developing and implementing center projects. Duties may include meeting with school administrators to develop professional development opportunities, attending conferences representing the Emerging Center, drafting grant proposals, collaborating on research projects, and other duties as assigned. The position is part-time (50%), with occasional weekend or evening hours. Some travel is required. Salary commensurate with experience. This is a grant-funded position to end August 12, 2019 with potential to be extended.

  • Skills in Microsoft products including WORD, EXCEL
  • Ability to travel to schools and state or regional conferences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience in Career and Technical Education
  • Educational research experience
  • Experience in writing and managing grants
