The Nakatani Teaching and Learning Center (NTLC) is devoted to promoting and supporting the art and science of teaching. The NTLC values teaching and learning by all members of the UW-Stout community, through collaboration, creating programs for instructional development, and facilitating the use of technology in education.
This front desk position primarily serves as the NTLC event coordinator and provides general office support.
NTLC EVENTS COORDINATOR 85%
- Serves as event coordinator for NTLC sponsored programs and workshops including the New Instructor Workshop, Communities of Practice, speaker programs, university opening week sessions, and other events as needed.
- Oversees event logistics, including coordinating room reservations, attendee registrations (using campus signup system), catering needs, and lodging accommodations for visiting speakers. Prepares and submits appropriate forms, including contracts per UWS guidelines. Works with the Provost’s budget manager.
- Prepares/coordinates marketing materials including flyers, website postings (SharePoint), UW-Stout Today submissions, mass mailings, and master calendar postings per UW-Stout identity standards.
- Maintains NTLC database and computer drives; works with IT & University Marketing
- Creates NTLC Board meeting agendas and minutes.
- Produces electronic informational documents, Qualtrics workshop evaluations, and certificates of achievement for workshop participants.
- Assists in processing of applications for NTLC programming including Communities of Practice, Wisconsin Teaching Fellows and Scholars, Faculty College, SoTL Teams and others as requested by the director.
- Serves as a receptionist, directing inquiries to NTLC, UW-Stout Online instructional design team, and Learning and Technology Services consultants.
- Updates NTLC Library inventory.
PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES 15%
- Serves on NTLC Board Committee.
- Maintains all documents and back-up materials and records in accordance with UW System records retention schedules; works with Stout Archives to archive NTLC documents.
- Assists the director with other special assignments.
- Two (2) years of office or administrative support experience.
- Demonstrated customer service skills working with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in digital marketing/visual communication and marketing events, projects, organizations, etc.
- Demonstrated skill in providing office support.
- Effective management and well-developed organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be able to work effectively with multiple competing priorities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Access, Excel and SharePoint; document workflow tools, Qualtrics and Adobe Acrobat.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative and to learn new skills.

Faculty use the university’s online course delivery system and must be available for online interactions and/or alternate time frames for teaching. Faculty members teach, advise students, conduct research, assess student learning and engage in service activities.
Menomonie, Wisconsin, is a town of 16,000 located in the beautiful Chippewa River Valley, 25 miles west of Eau Claire and 60 miles east of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
This is a part-time annual position that will work four hours per day between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The minimum starting salary is $15.42 per hour. The hourly rate for this position is negotiable based on experience and available budget. A six-month probation is required.
