ATTENTION:



In a collaboration between the Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute and the State of Wisconsin's Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, we are filling new positions which will work under the direction of a regional director to provide support and guidance to eligible DVR consumers/clients with a goal of self-employment (start-up or existing business). These positions serve as DVR self-employment experts. The Specialist will work with a consumer in exploring his/her business plan or existing business, assist consumers in progressing through DVR's self-employment programs and policies, and provide case management, outreach, and follow-along services. The Specialist will also gather data metrics, develop success strategies, and make programmatic change recommendations as well as perform validation services and corresponding fiscal work to ensure casework activities and services rendered follow state and federal requirements.

There are three full-time limited term positions anticipated to last 12-16 months, with possible extensions, depending on business needs. They will be headquartered in Wisconsin in the following areas: Milwaukee, Madison, and Wausau, with some remote work and regional and statewide travel. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience successfully managing and/or operating a business.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to provide technical assistance to individuals or groups.

Well-Qualified candidates will also have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities.
  • Case management skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Knowledge of process improvement techniques.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet competing deadlines.
  • Knowledge of basic fiscal practices.
