System Administrator (2 Positions)

Learning and Information Technology is seeking two self-motivated individuals to work as a member of the systems administration team in the central IT department at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. We are looking for individuals with a technical curiosity to advance the security and effectiveness of campus IT systems. The system administrator positions will work as a member of a team of administrators responsible for the systems managed by the central IT department at the university. Members of the team share responsibilities for many different systems. Areas of responsibility include the campus physical, virtual, and cloud hosted server infrastructure including management of HP 3par and StoreOnce solutions. Additionally, the team members are responsible for Active Directory, Office365 administration, Skype for business enterprise voice infrastructure, and the administration of many specific applications in use by various departments on campus. Team members will be responsible for evaluating and securing all campus solutions, information security is core value of the team.
Minimum Requirements (these are absolute and required of all candidates):
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Microsoft Server administration experience
Ability to work consultatively with constituents in all departments across campus to understand needs, identify and apply problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Experience administering Office365
Experience maintaining a Skype for Business infrastructure
Experience configuring and administering enterprise storage solutions (specifically HP 3par and StoreOnce)
Experience managing Azure Active Directory and Azure Connect
Experience administering Microsoft windows failover clusters
Experience managing Microsoft SQL server
Experience with server virtualization (Specifically Hyper-V)
Experience in Higher Education
Experience in scripting or similar technologies for automating repetitive tasks
RESPONSIBILITIES (shared responsibilities with the team)
Manage campus Active Directory domain
Configure and maintain physical infrastructure of the campus data center
Manage and administer virtual server infrastructure
Administer Azure server infrastructure
Manage Azure Active Directory
Manage and maintain remote app infrastructure
Administer servers and assist application administrators with maintenance of specific applications
Manage MSSQL servers and the associated databases
Manage Windows file and print servers
Develop scripts and other efficiencies to improve management
