Reporting to the Director of Disability Services (DS), the Testing Coordinator assists in maintaining an accessible and inclusive testing environment for students with disabilities.
The Testing Coordinator is responsible for monitoring the integrity of the testing center and all aspects of the testing process through coordination of arrangements with students, professors, the DS staff. This includes scheduling and proctoring exams as well as any other test coordination as necessary. Additionally, this position assists with other duties within the DS office including, but not limited to assisting other staff with the coordination of accommodations.
- Maintain a welcoming and inclusive testing environment.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality with student information and documentation.
- Responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of all exams and the testing environment.
- Effectively collaborates with faculty, staff, and students regarding testing policies and procedures.
- Strict adherence to University and DS testing policies and procedures.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the testing process including verification of student identification, proctoring examinees while testing, maintaining a secure testing environment, and using a student database with confidential personal information.
- Work closely with faculty and students to schedule exams and verify accommodations.
- Work closely with DS staff to ensure test is available in an appropriate accessible format determined by approved student accommodations.
- Convert exams to an accessible format as needed through use of assistive technologies.
- Act as a scribe or reader when necessary.
- Train and monitor student staff regarding testing policies and procedures.
- Attend appropriate professional development activities as approved by the Director.
- Help to ensure the overall success of the office of disability services by completing projects, working in a team environment and performing all duties as assigned by the Director of Disability Services.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, School Psychology, Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation, or related field, or a combination of education and experience.
- At least two years of experience working in the disability field.
- Knowledge of disability law.
- Excellent judgment including sensitivity to personal and confidential information.
- Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal communication in working with a diverse community.
- Work independently and as part of a team environment and on collaborative efforts.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Experience in Microsoft Office
- At least two years of experience working in higher education.
- Knowledge of disability law as it pertains to higher education.
- Demonstrated knowledge of assistive technology.
- Experience working with people with sensory disabilities and coordinating means of equal access.

The normal work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the academic year.
The minimum starting salary is $15.42 per hour. The hourly rate for this position is negotiable based on experience and available budget. A six-month probation is required.
