UW JOB TITLE: Student Status Examiner Associate
DEPARTMENT: Undergraduate Admissions
APPOINTMENT PERCENTAGE (FTE): 100%

SALARY: $15.90 minimum based on experience and available budget
JOB DUTIES This is a minimally supervised University Staff position to work a forty-hour work week. The primary goal of this position is to review and process applications for students, particularly customized instruction students, to include requesting missing information to make an application complete as well as updating any portion of an application for data within the application. The individual in this position will also correspond with applicants and staff members within and outside of the Admissions Office as part of this process. This individual will also support the Associate Director and work with the rest of the transfer staff regarding any transfer student or transfer credit processing
- Working knowledge of desktop hardware and standard business software programs (e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, database, email) in a windows environment is expected to include the Internet.
- Minimum of a high school diploma and 3 years of administration office work experience or an Associate or Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent judgment including sensitivity to personal and confidential information.
- Evidence of effective customer service skills and ability to provide accurate service to diverse populations
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and organize a variety of activities and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to exercise considerable independent judgment and exhibit exceptional attention to detail.
- Good work habits, such as attendance, punctuality, accountability, and resourcefulness.
- Work independently and as part of a team environment and on collaborative efforts.
- Previous experience in Higher Education
- Working knowledge of student information systems (preferably PeopleSoft) and Imaging Systems (preferably Perceptive Software)
The Undergraduate Admissions Office works with recruitment and admission of students. All undergraduate applications for all admission types are processed through the Undergraduate Admissions Office.

The normal work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The minimum starting salary is $15.90 per hour. The hourly rate for this position is negotiable based on experience and available budget. A six-month probation is required.
